Girls Rugby Update

On Saturday 9th Feb, our u14s travelled to Ballincollig to take part in the last day of the South Munster blitz games. They played hard and with pure determination and won all three of their matches. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on points to progress to the final day, but it is great to see such fierce competition and skills building within girls rugby at that level.

Saturday 16th saw Kinsale bringing their u12s and u14s to Clonakilty for their first competitive matches. Kinsale girls rugby has only recently started and it was great to host them for their first taste of competition! Bantry u12s joined us too, so we had a 3 matches for our u12 girls, in which they did us proud. All in all, it is wonderful to see girls rugby growing from strength to strength in the south Munster region. We look forward to taking out minis to Kinsale next week for a further blitz, and Clonakilty u14s will be hosting Skibbereen at home this weekend.

This Wednesday (18th), Clonakilty is hosting a Munster led regional skills sessions for u14 girls, so it is all go for our fierce warriors!
